I’ve finished @ 300 miles, primarily on the motorway, since the DPF warning light starting flashing on my Mazda 6 2.2D, and I’ve seen and been given some conflictual advice on getting it resolved. The manual says to drive at >2200 rpm, a mechanic says 3000-4000 rpm and the Wynns cleaner says drive normally. I don't really know about DPF equipped cars, but our family owned BS6 Mahindra truck has an auto DPF-cleaner program which needs to run once the DPF warning light switches from amber to red. Basically, it requires the driver to stop the truck in a well ventilated area and it runs the engine at half throttle for 10-15 minutes until the exhaust My Dpf filter warning light comes off and I blast off down the dual carriageway for 20 mins at 3000 rpm …..that has worked until this week when dpf , glow plug and engine management lights all came on and went into limp mode. I work for a well known car parts suppliers so checked out replacement dpf’s . Ranging in cost from £90 – £390. The DPF warning light came on after driving over 1300 miles in 3 days and from then on, it remained on. This is my third new Mazda 6 but unfortunately with this model there seems to have been
The warning light flashes and the beep sound is activated for about five seconds if there is a problem with the system. If the warning light flashes and the warning sound is activated, immediately depress the brake pedal and stop using the AUTOHOLD function then contact an expert repairer, we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer.
