Since there are probably no societal mores concerning death for the sylvari, necromancers would probably be either more common and/or more accepted. But death that is manipulated and twisted is dark. So I'm not seeing your point, unless you're talking about roleplaying a Necro differently or something.
The stag markers are out in the open world. Interact with all three of them in turn to be able to proceed further. Enter the cave and head to the left through the undead. You find Gavin, a fellow sylvari, lying down and hurt - defend him against three waves of undead culminating with the appearance of a Risen Brute.
My main Elementalist is Sylvari - Bright Red and Yellow obviously. The Fire Wizard trope demands it. But I have one for every other race too. Shamanistic Norn, elegant Elonian Water Sorceress, little grey and practical Asura and a more down to earth Olmakhan Charr. Sorry for being not helpful!
Then revive the wardens. Near one of the houses is a pumpkin looking thing called a water bucket. Get it, and put out the fires by running into a fire and pouring water. Once the fires are out, you will get attacked by multiple waves of Nightmare Courtiers. It's a pretty tough battle, so prepare well and good luck.
Malyck is a Sylvari not born of the Pale Tree. The segment of the Sylvari personal story involving him is very interesting in light of recent revelations in the Living Story. Your first meeting with Malyck involves rescuing him from Nightmare Courtiers. They are trying to capture him, calling him "The Harbinger".
Sylvari are plants. He looks distinctly human with pimped armor = (. Don't get me wrong, the artstyle will land you a job at ANet if you keep up. However it's important to get the lore right . I'm actually listening to WoodenPotatoes lore vids right now while I paint lol.
